Saif Ali Khan finds the scrutiny surrounding the personal life of actresses strange and believes it can impact their careers negatively.

"People often ask single actresses when they are getting married. I heard that with Kareena a lot and now I am going through the same with Katrina (Kaif) in press conferences."

"It's dangerous because when you are working in Bollywood sometimes it can impact your career negatively," Saif told PTI in an interview.

Saif, 45, feels such is the focus on their private life that sometimes not enough importance is given to the career achievements of the heroines.

"Marriage and other things happen at the right time. I just find it a strange mindset that people want to know about their marriage date and if they are married then about their baby plans. It seems nobody is happy with them being professional and talking about their work."

The actor will be next seen in Kabir Khan's anti- terrorism thriller "Phantom" opposite Katrina. The film, set in the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, hits theatres today.

It is already banned in Pakistan and has generated a lot of controversy there with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed filing a petition against the film in a court there.

Saif, whose "Agent Vinod" faced a similar fate in the neighbouring country, says it is a "shame" to ban the film.

"It's something new that Kabir is trying to do in all his films. But obviously, it's going to upset few people. But it's not against the people of Pakistan. It is only against the masterminds of 26/11. I don't know why it's banned. It's a shame," he said.

The actor said he is against "any kind of killing and violence".

"Terrorism is a terrible thing... No body should hurt innocent people," he said.

"Phantom", which was announced much before Kabir's last outing "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", took a little time to arrive in theatres and Saif blames it on the multiple shooting locations.

"Kabir shot 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' in a restricted time period... But our film involved many locations and action scenes. We were also waiting for a right time to release the film because timing plays an integral part."

The National-award winning actor is happy that he finally got the chance to work with the Kabir after missing the director's previous movies -- "Kabul Express" and "New York".

"Kabir is an amazing person. I am really fond of him. He is very controlled and patient. He is very intelligent and creates a brilliant atmosphere to work in. He goes to exciting locations and places the camera in very rugged locations. You can trust him with the graphics and the action."

The film will see Saif once again in the action avatar and the actor credits his wife for his fitness for the role.

"There were exercise routine and diet. The action scenes were somewhat similar like 'Agent Vinod' and I did rehearsals for this kind of movies. Kareena is fitness minded and she is a good inflence in the house."
