Bollywood filmmakers seldom give a try to thrillers, still, there are few who want to do something different. Sriram Raghavan is one filmmaker who has perfected himself in this genre. He has delivered some brilliant films in the past and now with AndhaDhun he has raised the bar even higher. The crime thriller is par excellence.

Ayushmann Khurrana as Akash the blind pianist loves his art and music and to be a perfectionist, he has developed some different techniques which land him into some serious troubles.

Tabu as Simi Sinha, wife of Pramod Sinha (Anil Dhawan) is tremendous. Her character as bored wife of yesteryears' star Pramod Sinha is brilliant.

Radhika Apte as Sophie, bar owner's daughter meet Akash 'by accident'. Sophie gets a job for Akash at her dad's bar as the piano player where Akash meets Pramod Sinha who invites him to his house to celebrate his wedding anniversary and wants to surprise his wife.

The story unfolds and a murder happens and suddenly we are into the movie and start guessing but no we don't have to find out the murderer. Sriram doesn't hide the murderer from the audience but there are many more things which we keep guessing. The director holds the nerve of his audience and never give away too much unless it is required.

Some more characters are introduced into the story, a crook cop (Manav Vij) who is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. A lottery ticket seller (Chhaya Kadam), a three-wheeler driver, a doctor (Zakir Hussain), everyone is crooked and unscrupulous.

All the characters in the story have their own significance, even a child is crooked.

The only character in the story who is plain is Sophie but she has very limited screen space, still, she is impressive.

The first half of the film is brilliant and will leave you awestruck, the second half starts on a slow pace but not for too long and it's back on the track with its pace and our guess game starts again.

The background score of a thriller movie is the key thing which keeps the audience intrigued and in AndhDhun background music has done the same. Not only the background music is excellent but the soundtrack is brilliant.

Pooja Ladha Surti has done a tremendous job on the editing table, she has even written the screenplay with Sriram Raghavan along with Arijit Biswas and Yogesh Chandekar.

AndhaDhun is inspired by the French short film, Olivier Treiner's L'accordeur (The Piano Tuner).

AndhaDhun is a beautifully crafted thriller which will keep you hooked to the screen till the end and if you try to look away, do it on your own risk because you might miss something very interesting. It's a treat for thriller aficionados.
