Moving forward from the crash and burn performance of 'Aiyaary', Neeraj Pandey looks to go back to his winning ways. Pandey, who busted his way into Bollywood with an engaging debut thriller 'A Wednesday' is reuniting with Akshay Kumar. The filmmaker who has previously worked with Akshay Kumar in Baby, Special 26 and Rustom has now brought the actor on-board for his upcoming film which will be based on the life and times of Ajit Doval, current National Security Advisor to current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The timing for this could not have been more perfect, with the historic scrapping of Article 370 yesterday! While the details of the project have been kept under wrap, we know that Neeraj initially wants to proceed with Ajay Devgn starrer 'Chanakya'. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar too would engage with his prior work commitments. The goal for Pandey and his team is, according to the sources, is "to lock a script before making an official statement."
It goes without saying that a film of this stature and importance requires deeply layered research. Akshay Kumar, who has already been a part of projects that deal with important national issues and an immense sense of patriotism is a perfect addition to the project as he understands the stakes involved; and is the perfect candidate to bring in both sensitivity and sophistication for the part. The project is already believed to be in works by Pandey and his team, and it won't come as a surprise if a lot of time passes before we hear anything about the project.
