It was announced last year that the Tamil blockbuster Kaithi will be remade in Hindi. However, the makers didn't reveal the lead actor for the Hindi remake. Speculations were there that the makers are considering Salman Khan or Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, but now the story has taken an interesting turn.

After much speculation about who will lead the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster, it has finally been announced that Ajay Devgn will headline this upcoming film. The movie will be produced by SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior and Reliance Entertainment. The Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior actor took to social media to confirms the news. Ajay Devgn, was last seen in Om Raut's historicial drama 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' which was superhit at box office. He will be next seen in Amit Sharma's sports biopic Maidaan based on the life of Indian football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. He was the first football coach who led Indian team to the semi finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics Football tournament making India the first ever Asian country to achieve this place. The film also stars Boman Irani, Gajraj Rao, & South Indian actress Priyamani. It will be produced by Zee studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Sengupta & Akash Chawla. Maidaan will release on 11th December, 2020.
