Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, several film theatres were closed down across the globe but now with the decline in the spread of the virus, theatres are opening in many countries but with prevented guidelines. After South Korea and China, Japan is another country that has lifted restrictions on movie theatres and welcomed the audience to watch movies in the ongoing pandemic.

Among the non-Japanese movies, Prabhas's 'Saaho' was dubbed into Japanese and released recently where the film got huge patronage from the audiences. Now, this Telugu film has broken the record set by Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' emerging as the highest opening Indian film in Japan ever.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli's box office phenomenon 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', which hit the Japanese theatres on December 29th, 2017, successfully completed 100 days in the East Asian nation and became the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time. This is when Prabhas gained huge popularity in Japan and after Rajinikanth & Aamir Khan, the actor became the third Indian movie star to have a tremendous fanbase in Japan.

Meanwhile, Sujeeth's 'Saaho' was produced by Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati, and Bhushan Kumar under their respective banners of UV Creations and T-Series. On August 30th, 2019, the film was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu and featured Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, along with Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Chunky Pandey in the pivotal roles. On that time, 'Saaho' received generally unfavourable reviews from the critics but still managed to gross 433 crores at the worldwide box office.
