With romantic-drama film 'Dil Chahta Hai' Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut, as well as in writing. The film features Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia in the pivotal roles. The film performed well at the box-office and also won the 'National Film Award' for the Best Hindi Feature Film category.
