Sanjay Dutt, who's upcoming film Sadak 2's trailer is about to be out, recently shared a note on social media with his fans and informed his followers that the actor is taking a short break from his work for some medical treatment.

There are reports which suggest that the actor is diagnosed with lung cancer. Recently on 8th of August he was admitted to Lilavati hospital due to breathlessness, now it is being said that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Though nothing can be confirmed as even official statement on social media by Sanjay Dutt doesn't say anything whether confirming it or denying the ailment.

Sanjay also told that his family and friends are with him and has urged his fans not to worry and do not make unnecessary assumptions. While ending the note, he wrote that by all the wishes and love of the fans, he will be back soon, Check out his post here -

It is pertinent to mention here that Sanjay's mother Nargis contracted cancer at a very young age. And she passed away even after intensive treatment in India and abroad.

On 2 August 1980, Nargis fell ill during a session of the Rajya Sabha, with the initial cause assumed to be jaundice. She was rushed home and admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay. After fifteen days of tests, during which her condition kept worsening and she rapidly lost weight, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1980 and underwent treatment for the disease at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Upon her return to India, her condition deteriorated and she was admitted at Breach Candy Hospital. Nargis went into a coma on 2 May 1981 after she became seriously ill and died the next day. She was buried at Badakabarastan in Marine Lines, Mumbai. On 7 May 1981, at the premiere of her son's debut film Rocky, one seat was kept vacant for her.

One year after her death, the Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Foundation was established by Sunil Dutt in her memory. Though Nargis' death was widely attributed to cancer, her daughter Namrata shared that she had successfully fought the pancreatic cancer but died from a urinary tract infection. Her son Sanjay added that her lowered immunity levels made her susceptible to the infection.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Dutt will be next seen in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Sadak 2', a sequel to 1991 film 'Sadak' along with Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles. The trailer of the film will be out soon and the film will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar from 28th August.
