Audiences are waiting for the most anticipated film of Abhishek Bachchan, 'The Big Bull' but it seems like we have to wait for the film release on the digital streaming service. 'The Big Bull' a film which is loosely based on the life of Harshad Mehta is in an unanticipated war with Hansal Mehta's 'Scam 1992 - The Harshad Mehta Story'. In August month, SonyLiv released the teaser of 'Scam 1992' with an unreleased date but now, the makers have announced the release date and will premiere on October 9th.

The show is adapted from the book 'The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away', written by Sucheta Dalal and her husband Debashis Basu. The Harshad Mehta Story follows the life of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who single-handedly took the stock market to dizzying heights & his catastrophic downfall. SonyLiv re-released the show teaser, which begins with a hesitant man speaking to journalist Sucheta Dalal about a Rs 500 crores scam. When the journalist portrayed by Shreya Dhanwanthary asks if the man knows about the person behind the scam, he replies in a tense tone, `Harshad Mehta.` The teaser showcases the stockbroker Harshad Mehta glimpse portrayed by actor Pratik Gandhi in the web series. In December 2019, speaking about comparisons, Hansal Mehta told `Mid Day`, `When they announced their film, we were already shooting. Our approach is different from theirs. I have been told that they've taken the outline of the story and created a work of fiction from it.` Hansel Mehta has said that his project sticks to Sucheta Dalal's book while Abhishek's film is a fictionalized version.

More about the Harshad Mehta, well, way before Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi, late Harshad Mehta, was the man who notoriously scammed the entire country with his stock manipulation scheme and eventually exposing the several loopholes in the Indian banking system. The series stars Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satish Kaushik, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ananth Mahadevan, Rajat Kapoor, Lalit Parimoo, KK Raina and Sharib Hashmi.
