Rashid Khan who is well known as the ace Afghanistan leg spinner and who is right now playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020, is not going to search his name on Google for a few days. As recently, the search engine site has linked his name to the actress Anushka Sharma. Well, Google believes that Bollywood actress Anushka is married to 22 years old Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan. Yes, you are reading it right, Google was showing Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma as Rashid Khan's wife.

But what is the reason behind this blunder? You'll get the answer from the 2018 Instagram chat session, in which Rashid Khan was answering fans questions and was asked about his favorite Bollywood actress. To which he responded, he loved to watch Anushka and Preity Zinta. From there, the news was picked up by several media outlets and Anushka Sharma as Rashid Khan's favorite actress trended so much that the search engine ended up linking the two celebrities. The numerous mentions on the web messed up with Google's search algorithm, as ultimately, Google depends on people for information. Although, Google has now corrected it's mistake.


Well, it is not the first time when Google has done such bizarre things as even earlier the same incident has happened when a search for the word 'idiot' on Google showed the pictures of USA president Donald Trump. While facing questions over competitive dominance and privacy concerns, Google CEO Sundar Pichai tried to explain the anomaly before a judiciary committee and said, ''we as Google, we have crawled and stored copies of billions of web pages in our index. We take the keyword and match it against web pages and rank them based on over 200 signals. Things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it, and based on that, at any given time we try to rank and find the best results for that query.''

Finally, Google gave people a chance to say that they know better than the search engine. We all know, Anushka Sharma is married to India Cricket captain Virat Kohli in 2017 and they are expecting their first baby soon. All in all, it gave a shock and some hilarious memes on Google's blunder over showing a short bio of Rashid Khan's achievements and termed Anushka Sharma in the section wife/spouse.
