Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, known for his impactful films The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, has thrilled his fans by announcing the release date of his next project, The Delhi Files. Taking to Instagram, Agnihotri revealed that the film will be released in two parts, with the first installment titled The Bengal Chapter set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025.

In his post, Agnihotri expressed the depth of the film's narrative, explaining why it had to be split into two parts. "After years of research, the story of #TheDelhiFiles is too powerful for one part. We're excited to bring you The Bengal Chapter'the first of two parts, unveiling a significant chapter in our history," he wrote.

The Delhi Files promises to be another compelling historical drama, similar to Agnihotri's previous works. The film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri himself, with Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi serving as producers. The tagline for the upcoming series of films is "Right To Life," suggesting that it will explore fundamental human rights and pivotal historical events.

Agnihotri's most recent directorial venture, The Vaccine War, was released in 2023 and received significant attention. The film, featuring veteran actors like Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, and Nivedita Bhattacharya, tells the inspiring story of the development of India's COVID-19 vaccine. The movie highlights the challenges faced by scientists and healthcare workers during the pandemic.

Before The Vaccine War, Agnihotri gained widespread acclaim with the release of The Kashmir Files in 2022. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi, the film was a massive box office success, grossing over Rs 300 crore globally. The movie, which told the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, was praised for its emotional depth and powerful storytelling.

Vivek Agnihotri began his directorial career in 2005 with the film Chocolate. Over the years, he has directed a diverse range of films, including Hate Story, Zid, and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. His career has been marked by his willingness to tackle controversial and thought-provoking subjects, earning him both critical acclaim and commercial success.

With the upcoming The Delhi Files, particularly The Bengal Chapter, Agnihotri looks poised to continue his tradition of telling untold stories from India's rich history, bringing them to the forefront of cinematic discussions.
