Will help Onir distribute it abroad

Mira Nair, one of the few Indian filmmakers to make it big in Hollywood, recently watched Onir's new film I Am in New York City.

The Amelia director was so impressed with the four part film that she immediately offered Onir her help in distributing his film in the US and Europe. Needless to say, Onir is grateful to Mira. Onir is hoping that with Mira's help, he will be able to reach his film to foreign audiences and not just Indians living abroad.

Onir hopes to release his film in September. One of the four parts is called I Am Omar and traces the lives of gay men who are blackmailed by male sex workers and cops over Article 377.

It stars Rahul Bose, Arjun Mathur and Abhimanyu Singh. Another part is called I Am Megha, and tells the story of a Kashmiri widow who revisits her Srinagar home almost two decades after insurgency forced her to leave it. It stars Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Suri.
