After a wait of almost 13 years finally hit and run case pertaining to Bollywood superstar Salman is all set to reach the final stage.

After so much of hullabaloo in the recent past in the recent event of development Mumbai Sessions Court today announced that it will pronounce the verdict on May 6 in the 13-year-old case involving the actor, in which one person was killed and four were injured.

The announcement was made in the wake of completion of the argument involving prosecution, led by special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat, and the defense lawyer Shrikant Shivade.

Salman has been facing trial since 2002 in the accident case in Bandra, in which one pavement dweller lost his life whereas suffered injuries.

Soon after his rendezvous with misfortune Salman was booked under section 304 II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) which attracts up to 10 years in prison; Section 279 (rash and negligent driving) which stipulates six months jail; Section 337 and 338 (causing hurt by act endangering life & causing grievous hurt) with punishment up to two years; Section 427 (mischief causing damage to property) with maximum punishment of up to two years.

Besides the actor was also charged under Motor Vehicle Act, Section 34 (a), (b) read with 181 (driving vehicle in contravention of rules) and 185 (driving at great speed after consuming alcohol with punishment of cancellation of driving license; and sections of the Bombay Prohibition Act dealing with driving under influence of alcohol which attract maximum six months in jail.

The case took a dramatic turn in the recent past, when Salman's driver appeared in the court and took over the responsibility of the incident.

Well, now after witnessing so many twists and turns in this infamous case, it will be interesting to see that what judiciary decides for this Dabangg of Bollywood on whom almost Rs 200 crore of industry are riding.
